Growing up, Brett Boxwell would play baseball with his older brother. Still to this day he does the very same thing. Brett is now 21 years old and playing for an amateur baseball team as well as the Anoka Ramsey Community College’s baseball team as a pitcher. It has all been a positive hobby and activity besides when he got hit by a ball in eighth grade and broke his nose. So far the best part of his short baseball career was during his senior year of high school when his team won a tournament of sixty four teams, which ended in the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, the same stadium that Minnesota Twins just played their last game at on October 11, 2009.
Last year playing for Anoka Ramsey Community College, Brett and the team made it to the State Tournament, which was a first for the school in six years. With many of the team’s starters returning this up and coming baseball season, Brett is expecting to have another year that the school will remember. The team is expecting to go further this season than they did last season. Only time will tell if this is going to come true.
With the amateur team he is currently on, Brett now plays with his older brother that he has been playing with for his whole life. Having fun with every team Brett is playing with, he hopes to transfer to a bigger four year school and finish out his career on hopefully a positive note.
